Ground Science Pty Ltd was established in August 2003 primarily as a geotechnical and sports field testing facility and has now developed into a diverse ground engineering company.

As a continually developing company, the two Directors, Ernst Gmehling and Chris Senserrick saw the need to not only provide the construction and turf industry with a testing service that honoured their commitment to service, but a company capable of providing a broader range of engineering services and skills to the diverse range of clientele that choose to use Ground Sciences as their preferred supplier. The growth of the company is a testament to the quality of service provided, with staff numbers increasing to fifteen full-time and several casuals over recent times.

The company has a diverse range of skills due to the experience of their staff.  This includes construction & earthworks testing, specialist geotechnical testing, sports field testing, quarry product testing, level one inspection, mine backfill mix design testing and research and development. Our engineering skills includes; geotechnical investigations, pavement design, environmental site assessment, sustainable waste water management, mineral exploration - development and management.

Ground Science is now one of the countries premier sports field testing facilities with projects performed Australia wide, throughout Asia and the Middle East. Some of which include the new Gold Coast rugby stadium in Queensland, Marrara soccer stadiums in Darwin, and numerous horse training and racing tracks around the country and overseas. Ground Science has also completed cricket soils and sand testing for the International Cricket academy at the Dubai Sports City project which is an enormous venture for a country on the edge of a desert. Ground Science has recently been chosen as the nominated testing facility for the performance of laboratory testing at the redevelopment of Skilled Stadium in Geelong, the home of the Geelong Football club the 2009 AFL premiers.
